The LIFEMicliFeedGIS platform originates from the preparatory Action Α1 – Mapping the potential of agro-industrial waste and by-products, ruminant livestock farming systems and linkage with climate change.
The LIFEMicliFeedGIS platform has been developed for France, Italy and Greece and uses as data layers: (i) the cultivated land surface; (ii) the yield, (iii) the amount of the waste derived from the industrial processing of grapes, citrus, tomatoes, carobs, pomegranates, hazelnuts, and olives and (iv) the small ruminant (sheep and goats) heads in each country.
The platform will be implemented continuously throughout the LIFE project (2020-2026) and the data will be used to assess the impact of extreme weather and climate events on the distribution of agricultural products and by-products.
